History

Apple Valley Little League started playing in 1957 and has been chartered with Little League International since 1967. On May 30th, 1957, the Lions Club dedicated two baseball fields behind the community center on Navajo Road, and Newton T. Bass threw out the first pitch that year. The Lions Club raised $7,000 to pay for bleachers, backstops, sprinklers, and grass. Apple Valley Little League’s first night game was held on June 2nd, 1958. Through the decades, the league has celebrated wins during district, regional, sectional, and state tournaments in both baseball and softball, serving the Apple Valley community for over 65 years.
