About Hillsborough Little League

Hillsborough Little League (HLL) provides youth baseball programs for approximately 600 kids ages 5–14 from Hillsborough, Burlingame, San Mateo, and Millbrae, California. The league competes in Little League District 52 across seven divisions from T-Ball through Majors and 54/80, playing on town school fields and parks with a mission to build community and teach life lessons through baseball.

History

Hillsborough Little League (HLL) was founded in 1993 and has grown into a community pillar serving Hillsborough, San Mateo, Burlingame, and Millbrae. Prior to 1993, Hillsborough children played in the Burlingame-Hillsborough Little League; when Burlingame departed in 1992 to form its own rec league (BYBA), Hillsborough parents chartered a new league that began play in 1993 on local school fields. In 2002, HLL formalized its boundaries to include San Mateo Park and the west side of Burlingame, and in 2008 added Millbrae to sustain full divisional rosters. Today roughly 600 kids ages 5–14 participate across seven divisions, and HLL has built facilities including batting cages and scoreboards at its fields through strong parent, school district, and town cooperation.
