About Horsham Little League Baseball
Horsham Little League Baseball serves the youth of Horsham Township, Pennsylvania, offering baseball and softball programs for multiple age divisions. Founded in 1958, the league competes as a member of Pennsylvania District 22 and is dedicated to developing young athletes through positive coaching, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
History
In early 1958, a group of Boy Scout fathers led by Cap Crim applied for a Little League franchise for Horsham Township, Pennsylvania. The first officers included Cap Crim as President, Mel Sonier as Vice President, Frank Eckenhofer as Secretary, Gus Gries as Treasurer, and Bob Nikander as Umpire-in-Chief. The original four teams (Eagles, Bears, Lions, and Rams) played at the old Horsham Elementary School off Columbia Avenue. Over the decades, the league grew into one of Pennsylvania's most decorated programs, earning multiple District 22, Section 8, and Pennsylvania State Championships in both baseball and softball, including three PA State titles in Senior League Baseball (1964, 1981, 1984).
