About North Burlington Little League
North Burlington Little League (NBLL) is a youth baseball and softball organization serving the New North End of Burlington, Vermont, offering programs from T-ball through Little League for players of all ages. Founded in 1956, the league plays at Schifilliti Park, a four-field facility maintained primarily by volunteers and community support.
History
North Burlington Little League was founded by Charlie Schifilliti, Bob Rosenburg and William Leavitt in 1956. At the time, Charlie and his wife Lillian were raising 3 young boys in the new north end of Burlington, and the nearest place to play ball was Schmanska Park, far from their neighborhood. Seeing a need for a local park, Charlie set out to create one. Today the park is primarily maintained by volunteer efforts as a Little League facility with four ballfields, dugouts, foul line fencing, backstops, an announcer's box, a snack bar, and restrooms. All fields have been updated with safety treatments thanks to the Charlie Schifilliti Memorial Fund Campaign Committee. Located at the end of Gosse Court in the New North End of Burlington, Vermont, the park hosts Little League, softball, T-ball, and District One All-Star games.
